Overall assessment of newborn infants shortly after birth and discharge from hospital/birthing centers. Assessment of weight gain, feeding concerns (breastfeeding / formula feeding) and develoment. Parents are encouraged to draw up a list of questions beforehand to ask Dr Ribeiro during their consultation.
Regular scheduled appointments to evaluate whether age appropriate growth and development is achieved in areas of gross motor, fine motor, language and communication as well as social development. Early detection of problems and the initiation of appropriate early intervention strategies allows for the best outcomes.
Dr Ribeiro manages both acutely ill children and chronic conditions ( initial diagnosis / management of chronic conditions previously diagnosed). Emergency bookings are available on the day for acutely ill patients. Emergencies include a high fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, rash, acute pain, coughing or a generally unwell child. We open at 8am and recommend that you contact us as early as possible to secure booking. Dr Ribeiro and her team will do their best to try and assist where possible.
Routine follow up visits focus on the overall health and wellness of your infant, child and adolescent ( Birth - 18 years of age) . At these visits concerns and questions are addressed related to issues such as potty training, nutrition, feeding concerns (breastfeeding, formula feeding, weaning and starting solid), picky eating, sleep patterns/difficulty, behaviour and all adolescent related health. These visits are an opportunity to pick up on any chronic problems that might present itself over time.
Our goal is to assist patients and their families in better understanding and coping with under-recognized conditions like Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism, behavioral difficulties and neurodevelopmental delays.
